David Jeffrey graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts in 1963, from Union Theological Seminary in 1966 and from Columbia University School of Business in 1968. For the next eleven years he was a financial analyst and manager at JP Morgan. During this period David was responsible for a wide variety of financial analytical areas. He completed a broad range of projects for JP Morgan and its clients, including analyses of major industries, corporate credits, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, company valuations, bond ratings, dividend policies and corporate capitalizations. He was also responsible for managing Morgan’s corporate and industry analyses in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.

In 1979 he left JP Morgan to found David Jeffrey Associates, Inc. (DJA), a financial consulting firm. DJA’s first client was JP Morgan, which hired DJA to do an in-depth credit analysis of a large international consumer products company. The early years of DJA were aided by new business referrals from Morgan, resulting in DJA doing both training and analytical projects for a number of major corporations. David was joined by John Everitt in 1981, Virginia Ashcraft in 1982 and Jack Foster in 1994, who brought from their careers at JP Morgan extensive skills and experience in credit analysis, training and corporate finance.

Although David Jeffrey Associates began as a corporate financial analytical consulting firm, it soon concentrated on developing and teaching seminars in the methodology and techniques of corporate credit analysis for money center and foreign banks. As DJA added professional staff the firm was able to respond to the broad training needs of its clients with course offerings on Fortune 500 companies, foreign corporations, financial intermediaries, middle market companies, small private firms, wealthy individuals, industry analysis, credit structures, credit marketing, asset valuations, derivatives, securities firms and hedge funds.

David enjoys the process of doing credit analysis and, even more, the teaching of it. With almost twenty years experience in teaching credit to financial professionals his instructional skills have become outstanding.

David serves as a director of a closed end mutual fund and as trustee for two educational institutions and one community organization. He is President of the Board of Trustees of New Jersey SEEDS, a non-profit organization which recruits, educates and places in excellent secondary schools outstanding eighth grade students from economically disadvantaged families. David has been married since 1963, has four children and values his family very much.
